8/19 Reminders

First week of school is here!  Below are a few reminders for this very important week!

#1.  Normal rehearsals start-up this week.  Tuesday is 6-9 & Thursday is until 6pm.  Students should GO HOME ON TUESDAYS if at all possible and return @ 6pm for rehearsal.  Students who stay will be required to remain in the band room from 4pm – 6pm.  NO REHEARSAL ON MONDAY 8/19!
 
#2.  The Attractions Fundraiser started last week! Books are $20.  Student makes $7 per book.  Turn in book sales on Tuesday evenings for prizes!  FINAL TURN IN – TUESDAY, AUGUST 21st!
 
#3.  The Clover Band will be playing at the “Cougar Burn” on Thursday, August 22nd!  Call time: 7:30pm! 
 
#4.  First football game vs York is THIS Friday, August 23rd.  Full Band!  MORE DETAILS LATER THIS WEEK!
 
#5.  We will have our 1st Mini-Camp THIS coming SATURDAY from 9-5.  This is a mandatory event and has been on the calendar so please make sure you’ve made plans to attend.  The Band Boosters will be feeding you lunch!
 
#6.  WE NEED HELP FOR THE PANTHER PRE-SEASON GAMES on August 29th!  See CHARMS to sign-up!
 
#7. There are many students who are not current on their band fees.  At this point all students should have paid at least $325 of their band fees. The next band fee payment is due on September 15th!
 
#8.  Please be reminded that NO practice/performance is considered optional.  It is not appropriate to miss any rehearsal.  The allowed excused absences are listed in the handbook.  In the event that you cannot attend a rehearsal /performance it is the STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY to inform Mr. Gulledge, Mrs. Loftis or Mr. Hall.  Students who have unexcused absences face the following consequences: grade reduction, detention, and even removal from the program.  We have no “bench” to pull from.  If you are absent the entire group suffers!
