Mrs. Mariah McCarter serves as the colorguard director at Clover High School. A native of York County, South Carolina, Mariah has a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education with a minor in dance from Winthrop University.
Mrs. McCarter teaches primary Montessori at Hunter Street Elementary in York, SC in addition to her responsibilities at Clover High School. Her previous experience includes marching, consulting, choreographing, directing, and instructing with many colorguard and winterguard programs all over the state since 2004. In her career she has led many groups to accolades including SCBDA Marching Band Upper State champions, SCBDA Marching medalists, BOA regional finalists, BOA Championship contestants, WGI World Championship finalists, WGI regional finalists, CWEA Championship medalists and champions, and more.
Mrs. McCarter currently resides in York, SC with her husband, Zack, and two children, Sloan & Elowyn! Band is family in the McCarter household!
