We are in need of a TRUCK and a TRUCK DRIVER to help transport equipment for the marching band this season. We have been very fortunate the last several years to have a parent who owned his own truck that was able to help us out, but he has graduated and we now have a VERY BIG NEED!
While not impossible, it's probably unlikely that we have another parent owner/operator, but if we do, I'd LOVE TO TALK TO YOU!
Here are what I believe are our options moving forward.
Option #1 - Local Business Truck Sponsor
Does anyone know any local area businesses that use semi-trucks that would be willing to donate/rent their equipment to help us? We had an arrangement in Rock Hill several years ago with a local cement company that provided us a truck & driver and just asked us to pay the driver for their time. They donate the use of the truck and much of the gas and used it as a tax deduction. Remember... we are 501 c 3 so any donations are tax deductible!
DO YOU KNOW ANY BUSINESSES THAT MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP US?
Option #2 - Rent a truck & find a driver
This is more or less what we do for the Indoor drumline season and this is an expensive option. The truck rental via Penske/Ryder is roughly $130 a day plus mileage and gas so it can easily be over $200 a day just for the use of the truck. This would be a very serious impact to our budget but we'll have to do what we have to do to get our equipment where it needs to do. If we go with this option then we'll need one or more CDL certified drivers to commit to driving the truck. On game nights they would need to be able to pick the truck up and get it to the school by 5:30pm or so to get it to the game on time. DO YOU HAVE YOUR CDL OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO DOES THAT WOULD BE WILLING TO HELP US?
Below are the dates/locations that we're going to need a truck for the fall season. Please feel free to share this as needed. If we don't have an owner/operator parent, then we'd really love to see if we could get Option #1 to work.

20 – Transport equipment to FB game
21-22 – Western Carolina Tournament of Champions – Cullowhee, NC
(Overnight trip. Staying over Saturday night after competition)
3 – Possible transport equipment to stadium for practice
4 – 5A State Championships – Irmo, SC

-Brass/Battery Percussion sectionals today after-school until 5:30. Front ensemble will be 4:30-6:30
-WE ARE STILL 8 ADULTS SHORT FOR THURSDAY NIGHT! Thank you to everyone who's already signed-up. Do you have a friend? While I realize that this Friday starts Labor Day weekend, please know that I cannot excuse your child from our performance due to travel plans. I've had several requests already and need to be consistent with everyone and with the policies/procedures in our handbook. Thank you in advance for understanding.

What an AMAZING BAND CAMP!
We are off to a GREAT START this year! We had a fabulous band camp and REDEMPTION is taking shape! HUGE THANK YOUS to all the parents who helped sever food, fit uniforms, hand out orange slices and keep our band moving the past 2 weeks! There's no way we could've done it without your support!

WHAT A GREAT FIRST WEEK OF CAMP! We have the 1st 2 min on the field and it looks AMAZING! The hard work is paying off and it is exciting to see REDEMPTION begin to take shape! We’re looking forward to a GREAT final week of band camp!

Booster Club meeting on Tuesday @ 7pm night! If you ordered a show shirt you can plan to pick it up after the meeting.
Autobell Fundraiser info was handed out last Thursday. This is a “pre-sale” fundraiser. Gift cards are $20. Student earns $7 per card for their ledger. Order turn-in date is Friday, August 18th. Cards will be in 1st of September.
The Clover Band will be playing at the district Convocation on Monday, August 14th. Sign-ups for this are in the band room.
