Classroom Procedures
  • Enter class on time.
    • To be early is on time, to be on time is to be late. 
  • Do not touch ANYTHING in the percussion room unless instructed to do so by a teacher, or unless it is the instrument assigned to you. This is for the safety of everyone during a pandemic. ​​
  • Students will not be released from class except in case of instructional requisite, emergency, or administrative reasons. ​
  • Students are not allowed to leave class (for bathroom or any other reason), the first 15 minutes and last 15 minutes. 
  • No food, drink, or gum allowed in the Percussion Room at any time.
  • No cell phones or Air Pods unless being used for a metronome or tuner. 
  • Look on the board for daily class schedule
  • Setup all equipment needed for the rehearsal
    • ​My plan is to have you on no more than one keyboard per day, to reduce the need to sanitize multiple times during a class period. 
  • If you are not currently playing, you must ask Mr. Hall for permission to practice in another room.
    • ​Practice rooms will be limited due to Covid and cleaning procedures.
    • If a practice room bus not available, you are to sit at the front of the room and listen to the students rehearsing. 6 foot between students and no cell phones, or talking. 
  • Place any school used implements such as Chime mallets, glockenspiel mallets, triangles or anything else in the "DIRTY" bin. Do not ever put used equipment back into the cabinet. 
  • Do not touch any percussion instruments unless you are told to (cleaning and safety purposes).

Covid Daily Expectations

  • Masks must be worn while moving through the building and social distancing cannot be observed; shields should be worn in the classroom when able to socially distance (teachers) (at least 6 feet apart).  A mask must be worn in the classroom at any time you are in close proximity (within 6 feet of students or colleagues).  A mask is not required when you are alone or when outside and socially distanced.  
  • Sanitize personal space regularly especially before and after eating. 
  • Student desks should remain 6 feet apart at all times  
  • Students will not be allowed to congregate in any area of the classroom.
  • Teachers will sanitize student desks in between classes.
  • Teachers will complete a contact log at the end of each day.
  • Restroom procedures:  Students should be allowed to leave one at a time to use the restrooms.  Restrooms will be closed during transitions and the first and last 15 minutes of class times.  Available restrooms are located in the main lobby, 200 Hall - ‘99 Wing, 300 Hall, ATC B, and C Building.
  • Students should have a pass when going to the restroom.
